THE OWNERS OF LAKESIDE SHEPHERDS, David & Pam Autry, HAVE MORE THAN FIFTY YEARS EXPERIENCE RAISING DOZENS OF DIFFERENT SPECIES OF ANIMALS INCLUDING GERMAN SHEPHERDS.
What started out as a love for animals while just a teenager back in the 60s later turned into a business, H & A RANCH, that would lead to raising many different species of wildlife and exotic animals including cougars, leopards, wolves, lynx, several species of deer, antelope, big horn sheep, zebra, bison and elk just to name a few. As the business grew, it eventually pulled David away from his other businesses as a Mechanical Engineer for a couple of Tool & Die Shops he owned and managed; LAKESIDE MACHINE & TOOL CO. and TRICO TOOL & DIE CO.
As his animal business grew, David became more involved on a state and national level to help promote and protect this growing animal industry. He served as president of the TN ELK RANCHERS ASSOCIATION, vice-president of the NON TRADITIONAL FARMERS & RANCHERS COALITION, secretary of the NORTH AMERICAN ELK BREEDERS ASSOCIATION and was one of the founding members of the INTERNATIONAL FAINTING GOAT ASSOCIATION plus the WORLD WATUSI ASSOCIATION.
In 2012 when Pam’s health declined drastically and she was in need of a heart transplant, they began to sell off all the wildlife and exotic animals so David could focus more of his time on Pam, the German Shepherds and their white dove business for funerals and weddings.
Over the years, while pursuing their love for animals, David and Pam met some very unique people and made friends with many people all around the world. It’s been a life that many only dream of.
Below you will see just a few of the species we raised here on our ranch in west TN. Enjoy the view from your computer or cell phone but it won’t compare to being with them in person.
