THE GERMAN SHEPHERDS ON THIS PAGE ARE NOT FOR SALE
THE FOLLOWING PICTURES ARE EXAMPLES OF PIEBALD, WHITE SPOTTING & PANDA COLORED GERMAN SHEPHERDS
SOME WERE PRODUCED BY LAKESIDE SHEPHERDS AND SOME BY OTHER BREEDERS
What causes a piebald German Shepherd? A piebald or pied German Shepherd is one that has a pattern of unpigmented spots (white) on a pigmented background of hair. Thus a piebald black and white dog is a black dog with white spots. The animal’s skin under the white background is not pigmented.
What causes a panda German Shepherd? A study published by UCDavis in 2016 found that the Panda marking is the result of dominant mutation of the KIT gene, or the CD117 gene. DNA tests conducted by the American Kennel Club proved the lineage to be, for a fact, a pure German Shepherd Dog.
What is the cause of a German Shepherd with white spotting? White spotting indicates an absence of melanocytes in the hair follicles or skin. There has been defined a new gene locus S, localized with the MITF gene, associated with the white spotting in dog coat. The MITF encodes a transcription factor that controls the development and migration of melanocytes.
ALERT ***** We love the panda GSDs but AKC is systematically cancelling their registration as well as the parents of a panda. They won’t admit this but AKC is trying to remove the panda genes from the AKC registry. All it takes for AKC to start an investigation is for someone to complain about seeing your panda and then AKC will start to look for some other reason to cancel the panda’s registration as well as the parents to that panda even if the panda and parents test pure GSD. SHAME ON YOU AKC FOR ALLOWING THE SHOW PEOPLE TO DICTATE POLICY AND REGULATIONS REGARDING PATERN AND COLOR. Like Max Von Stephanitz, GSD breed founder, said: “No good dog is a bad color.”
